The ENCR working group on tumours of unknown primary site has completed a draft recommendation that is now open for consultation with ENCR member registries.
The draft builds on work developed by the French network of cancer registries, FRANCIM, and has been further adapted to support consistent application in the European context. It provides guidance for population-based cancer registries on the recording and reporting of tumours for which the primary site cannot be identified or is ill defined.
ENCR members are invited to review the draft recommendation and submit comments during the consultation period. Registry feedback is crucial to ensure that the final guidance is clear, feasible and applicable across the diverse organisational and data-collection settings represented in the ENCR network.
The consultation follows ENCR’s established approach for developing recommendations, whereby draft guidance is shared with registries for review before finalisation.
