The Joint Research Centre (JRC) released the new cancer incidence and mortality estimates for 2020, replacing the 2018 figures in the ECIS web application, for the moment with EU-27 coverage only. The estimates will be complemented for the remaining 12 European countries (for a total of 40 countries, as it is the case for the 2018 estimates) as soon as possible after the summer break.
These 2020 estimates are the outcome of a collaborative project within the JRC, and the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), in collaboration with the European Network of Cancer Registries (ENCR). These estimates will be included in the forthcoming update of IARC’s GLOBOCAN project later this year.
